The songs are compiled in an order that shows the progression of the seasons throughout a year, as well as in a life. There are times of love, growth, forgiveness, despair, complacency, trust, and worship paralleled within each cycle of spring, summer, fall, and winter. The songs are united in their simplicity and theme, which is mainly Christ. 'My Valentine' opens up with a beautiful letter from Jesus to his bride, the church, describing how He plans on coming back for the one He gave his life for. The songs go on to show the Christian's dependence on that relationship to make it through life's struggles, 'Crying Out' praises in the tiresome times and fueling an angrily passionate love when it begins to grow cold ('The Love Hymn'), until finally that relationship culminates into an eternal union in Heaven ('Fly'). These newborn musicians may lack a long career of training and practice, but they're hearts are overflowing as they sing and play for their God. There is a pleasant mix of acoustic guitar and piano throughout the pieces, accented by the use of ukulele, electric guitar and bells. The lead vocalist fills each track with his tenor vocals, as the female vocalist adds depth with her harmonies. The band uses everything they've got to create a new emotion with each piece, drawing the listener in to feel what each song is all about.
